This is my first Blog posting. Though I have registered this domain a several of days ago, but the thought of, what to and how to put in something, is taking for ever and after wandering in the internet without a clear motive to copy some good stuff on how to start writing, finally I settled down to produce something original. If the points mentioned here sounds like you have read it before, then feel free to give your appreciation.

Anything, or for that matter say everything, in this whole wide world starts small. So it hardly matters that your first posting is small. So if you have something in your mind and you are wondering whether to post it, because it’s very small write up, then I suggest, just post it. After reading it a couple of times in your blog site, you yourself would get ideas as to what to add and how to add. I have read and seen, most of the bloggers start a blog site fast, but when it comes to post something, it takes a while, some even do not post anything. In this post I am trying to give some solid tips on how to start writing what you want to write. If you have flair of writing then do not need to read beyond this point. You have more talent than me so start writing. If you do not have a natural talent of writing, then do not worry, it is not needed at all. Here is what is needed.

1. One simple subject, this might be your experience, your dream, your day to day task, any natural event etc.

2. Simple words and phrases. This can be the way you speak or would like to speak. You can also imagine, how your favorite person would speak, in case she/he is asked to describe.

3. Visualization/Characterization. As you know a picture speaks a thousand words, it would be better if you can relate your thoughts to some pictures.

4. Your motive to write. This is the most essential ingredient. If you do not have a motive, then stop here and come back when you have a motive.

OK, now let’s say you have a matter to write and you can imagine something about it and also you have a motive then how to proceed, just start writing. First give a heading to the subject that indicates what the passage below it is about.  Do not think too much about the heading, if you do not know what would be a proper one, just start with “My First Blog Posting”. Then start writing on the subject directly, if you want to give a prologue and epilogue, give a very short one but generally it is NOT a must while writing on a blog. In fact I have not seen much of preface type introduction in many blog writing (which is often referred as blogging). So if you can, avoid it. If you are still not able to figure out how exactly to proceed, do not worry, follow the simple technique.

 1. First write in simple words, what you want to express, for example; if you want to write about a movie, just start with what you liked about it, something like this; The story was good, lead actor has done very well, Villain has played its character pretty well, scenes were picturized as if real ones, etc.

 2.  After you have writing some points like this, try to find a reasonable reason behind your expression, like, why the story was good, was it because it was a very unusual story or it was presenting something that is very common to everyone, or is it related to politics, love, war, human behavior, cultural values, history, recent happenings etc. A simple reason, would be “because I liked the story” is also as valid as many other valid reasons.

3. Now is the time for characterization, remember it is not a very difficult task, only it looks to be one. For example you have started the post as “ Yesterday, I had been to the “Spiderman 3” movie and I liked it very much because….” When you are stuck just go back to the movie and think the most striking moment in the movie, was it while the Spiderman appears in time for help or he got hurt or he was emotional or something similar. Here you would find the answer and complete your first sentence like this as “Yesterday, I had been to the “Spiderman 3” movie and I liked it very much because the Spiderman used to appear in time whenever people needed him most, Just like my very best friend does it all the time.” That is it, you have made visual image for the point and this is a good start. When you refer Spiderman’s helpful nature to your friend’s helpful nature, you are adding an example to the story and this will make the reader feel like he is reading something that he himself has written. Keep writing about your similar thoughts again and again and you would yourself find out what to keep and what to delete from the body.

4. After you have completed the story make sure you read it end to end at least once and see whether you liked it like a reader. If you like it then there is a high likelihood that most of other like it too. If you do not like it, then repeat the previous steps to come to a point from where you yourself would feel it is a good one.
